EDUCATION AND SOME HURDLES -5
[Collective effort-3]
Teaching is a mind game
–true; it readily establishes proximity between the donor [the teacher] and the
recipient[s] [the learners]. The situation is not too easy to define or
describe in terms /words.
It is simply a bond
that falls in place –only if the two categories of mind in this ensemble manage
to perceive each other. Sans, this
mutual perception, teaching would prove itself a herculean effort, more
frustrating than fascinating.
If this criterion
escapes your faculty of comprehension, recall how many of your teachers manage
to ‘impress’ you by their clarity. Also consider- how many students in a batch
generally found that teacher-the most
acceptable.
Without getting into
irrelevant parameters, if you assess ‘teacher performance’ for his/her utility
as an able instructor, it comes to the fore that the person manages to make
wards understand most of what [s]he explains.
What does this mean?
The person keeps self,
oriented well before meeting a class. That is the key element for a teacher to
succeed. The person is absolutely clear and thorough of what [s]he transacts in
a session.
Such teachers
effectively reach the learner minds at will, for- they know how to articulate
an idea or an issue. Also, they refrain from taking stands on any disputed
opinion; but faithfully present both sides of an argument as true educators.
Besides clarity,
objectivity in presenting facts is a hallmark of appropriate teaching.
Why all these?
Any class or session of
learning ought to provide clarity to the learners. In achieving it, teachers
strive in different ways known to them. Methodology is a matter of personal
preference; but, the spirit of the effort [being purposeful] is the same,
independent of the individuals and the level at which they teach.
If so, the operational
mechanics may vary, though, the ultimate purpose stays the same. Stated in
plain terms, the process [teaching] must enlighten the recipient to the best
possible extent. Enlightening survives
on clarity.
In the pretext of
providing clarity, teachers should never struggle. The most convincing
statements, delivered with ease achieve clarity in the least time.
