Oh language ..
So far, we have had
some idea of John Milton’s quotes. I have been trying to provide some idea of
what a ‘quote’ suggests. If viewers have their perceptions about these
‘quotes’, they too could be valid as much.
We may have to look for
other works which can help our comprehension better.
Luck is the residue of design.
A seemingly plain
observation really refers to the event of luck fortune].
There is no
accidental arrival of fortune; indeed it accrues by effort of hard work.
[Design refers to hard work and so luck is the fruit of labour.
To live a life half dead, a living death
This quote is an observation, which portrays the state of
present day living [living death]. The person is technically alive but doesn’t
share bondage of affection, sense of belonging and the humane touch of
friendship.
Where
there is much desire to learn, there of necessity will be much arguing, much
writing, for opinion in good men is but knowledge in the making.
In a society, learning comes about arguments/
debate and knowledge [learning ] comes through debate.
Confidence imparts a wonderful inspiration to
the possessor.
Clarity from
understanding creates a sense of motivation ; these arise from confidence which
is an asset to the possessor .
When we speak of knowing God, it must be
understood with reference to man's limited powers of comprehension. God, as He
really is, is far beyond man's imagination, let alone understanding. God has
revealed only so much of Himself as our minds can conceive and the weakness of
our nature can bear.
God is a power far
beyond human comprehension. Our knowledge about God is rather restricted by our
own limitations of comprehension. Thus, God reveals only that much of HIM,
which a person can really perceive. Our vision limits our perception of GOD.
I feel, at this point,
we may say Thank you Mr. Milton and relish his quotes for a long time to come.
