JOHN KEATS
So far we have had a
series on William Blake’s quotes. We now turn to
JOHN KEATS
John Keats has been a
celebrated poet rich by simplicity of words that mean serious facets of life. I
have merely brought out some of his quotes. I have not attempted any
explanation. I feel these are straight forward and plain enough. Any
interpretation may simply destroy the beauty of those ‘constructs’. Kindly read them and draw your own inferences.
The Poetry of earth is
never dead
Touch has a memory
I want a brighter word
than bright
My imagination is my
monastery and I am its monk
A thing of beauty is a joy forever, its loveliness
increases, it will never pass into nothingness
Beauty is truth and, truth is beauty that is all ye
know on earth and all ye need to know
Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are
sweeter
Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced
The scenery is fine- but human nature is finer
