ஆசான் வழி அணுகுமுறையில் கற்பது நல்ல பலன் தரும்.

எனினும், உயர் கல்வியில் பிற அணுகுமுறைகளும் பெரிதும் உதவும். அவை         1 நூல் வழி கற்றல், 2 ஆய்வு தொகுப்புகள்[JOURNALS]  மூலம் புரிதல், 3 சிறப்பு கருத்தரங்குகள், 4 சான்றோர் மன்றங்கள், 5 ஆய்வுகளின் ஆண்டு தொகுப்புகள் [ANNUAL REVIEWS ] மற்றும்  6  நினைவு வெளியீடுகள் [COMMEMORATIVE EDITIONS] என அவ்வப்போது பதிப்புகள் வரும். அவற்றிற்கு விளம்பரங்கள் பிற  ஜர்னல்களில் [JOURNALS] முன் அறிவிப்பாக வரும்.

எனவே, ஆய்வுத்தொகுப்புகள்  பல வகையிலும் பலன் தரும். [அவை யாவை? என பின்னர் விளக்கம் தரப்படும்].

இப்பகுதியில்-- பயில்வோர் என்னென்ன வழிமுறைகளை மேற்கொள்ளலாம் என பார்ப்போம்.

பள்ளி நிலையில் ஒரு பாடநூல் பின்பற்றப்படுகிறது. எனவே அதை முற்றாக புரிந்து கொண்டு பயின்றால் போதும்.

அதைக்கூட பயன் படுத்தாமல் நோட்ஸ் / GUIDE நாடி குறுக்கு வழியில் பயில்வோரால் எந்த உயரத்தையும் எட்ட இயலாது. எனது இந்த கூற்றுக்கு சான்றாக --உங்கள் ஆசிரியர்கள் திணறி வழிந்து திக்குமுக்காடி நோட்ஸ் எழுதிக்கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று அவ்வப்போது நேர விரயம் செய்கிறார்களே--அவர்களை பார்த்து புரிந்து கொள்ளுங்கள் உரிய முறையில் பயிலாதவன் [பயிற்றுவிக்க வந்தால் ] உறியடி வாங்குவது சர்வ நிச்சயம் என்று.

நோட்ஸ் படித்து ஆழ்ந்த கருத்துகளை விளங்கிக்கொள்ள இயலாது. விளங்காத ஒன்றை விளக்க முற்பட்டால் குழப்பமும் கோபமும் தலை தூக்கும்.                  பள்ளி நாட்களிலேயே உரிய புத்தகங்களை மட்டுமே பல முறை திரும்பத்திரும்ப படிப்பதன் மூலம் மெல்ல மெல்ல தெளிவு ஏற்படும்.

 மேலோட்டமாக படித்து பயன் இல்லை. எந்த போட்டி தேர்வுக்கும் சிறிதும் உதவாது.   மீண்டும் சொல்கிறேன் புரிந்து கொள்வது ஒன்றே அறிவாற்றலையும் தன்னம்பிக்கையும்  விதைக்கவும் விருத்தி செய்யவும் உற்ற வழிகள்.

கல்லூரி நிலையில், எந்த குறிப்பிட்ட புத்தகமும் பரிந்துரைக்கப்படுவதில்லை..   சொல்லப்போனால் ஒவ்வொரு பகுதி எனும் CHAPTER குறித்து அறிய வெவ்வேறு நூல்களை கவனமாக பயில வேண்டியிருக்கும். புத்தகங்களையே படிக்காத எவரும் பின்னாளில் கல்லூரி புத்தகங்களை பார்த்தாலே மயக்கமும் கலக்கமும் ஏற்படும். உடனே நோட்ஸ் படித்து இறுதி வரை மார்க் வாங்கும் இயந்திரமாக உங்களை வடிவமைத்து என்ன பலன்? 

எந்த செயல் தகு தியும் , .    சீரான வாத முறைகளும் , விளக்கம் தர உகந்த மொழி அறிவையும் மாணவப்பருவத்தில் முறையாக வளர்த்துக்கொள்ளாமல் காலம் கடத்திவிட்டு , வேலை தேடும்போது பிறரின் கேலிக்கு ஆளாக நேரும்.

எனவே, நல்ல புத்தகங்களை படித்து உள்வாங்குதல் மிகுந்த முக்கியத்துவம் பெறுகிறது. உள்வாங்கி பயின்றோரால்  . மாத்திரமே மனப்பாடம் செய்யாமல் சொல்ல வேண்டிய எதையும் சீராக சொந்த வாக்கிய அமைப்புகளில் வெளிப்படுத்த இயலும்.

இதையே புரிந்து கொள்ளாமல் அது எதற்கு இது எதற்கு என்று கேள்விகளை அடுக்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தால் எதுதான் எதற்கு ? நான் எதற்கு , நீங்கள் எதற்கு ? என்று தத்துவார்த்தம் பேசி மண்டபங்களில் விவாத மேடையை வேடிக்கை பார்ப்பதைத்தவிர வேறொன்றும் செய்ய இயலாது. எனவே நமது செயல்-- அறிவின் வெளிப்பாடாக வேண்டுமெனில் நாம் உள்வாங்கி கற்றல் முறையை சரியாக பின்பற்றியே ஆகவேண்டும்..

அப்படி எனில், நல்ல புத்தகங்கள் யாவை? அவற்றை இனம் காண்பது எங்ஙனம்? என்பதை அடுத்த  பிரிவில் பேசுவோம்.

EDUCATION – THE COMMON PERSPECTIVE

Not that people do not know anything, but, they tend to follow the course of the wind, little realizing that popular notions are not always infallible.

Besides, they wish to play safe, placing faith on social trends. It is not wrong go by general trends; but to tow a line with no concern what so ever for one’s conditions of financial constraints, desirability of an item in the light of our own strengths /weaknesses in standing up to the mental and material requirements essential for undertaking a course of study.

In the process, even personal likes and dislikes of the learner are not considered, leave alone their being honoured.

Such a ‘social conditioning’ begins from a perceived prospect of prosperity in pursuing a course of study. The ‘prosperity’ that I speak of relates to employment opportunities for a certain kind of study.

All such notions are rooted in the wrong belief that education is a definite job provider. Alas, education never aims to provide a job. At best, it can equip the learner to seek a defined category of job.

All parents and learners –please understand that job opportunities come your way only if you are equipped. Without this understanding, people sit in judgment and say ‘my son graduated three years ago, still   finds no job though he holds the second rank in metallurgy B.Tech  2023 from XX university.

It is a sad reflection of our mindset that a mere possession of a degree can fetch a job.

It is possession of proven skill/ knowledge   that matters the most  and not the grotesque nomenclature of a degree.  Please wake up from slumber and devote your effort to master a scheme of knowledge by absolute comprehension.

Nothing can compete with comprehension of knowledge, of inference, of interpretative perception and of quick trouble shooting readiness.  

I have heard screening agencies looking for right personnel for employment [through campus interviews] lamenting that employment is not a problem , but employability is a massive problem.

DIGITALIN [FOX GLOVE]

Botanically, the plant ‘Fox glove’  is Digitalis purpurea

The general public know this plant as an ornamental herb in gardens of cooler ambience. The plant is noticed by its flowers which compensate for its short size.  

Flowers are in dense terminal clusters, each with a long hollow canal, resembling a glove, hence ‘Fox glove’ though unrelated to fox. Flowers are highly attractive and the short herb is about a foot and a half in height , still captivating by the bright crimson/pink coloured flowers.

Though pleasant to eyes, the herb is poisonous. 

Its alkaloid ‘Digitalin’ can be profitably exploited; If appropriately processed in a scientific protocol,   excellent medicines are derived for heart patients. As such ‘Digitalin’ is a cluster of different alkaloid components, some of which can rescue patients from fatal cardiac [heart] disorder.

Cardiac ailment –Congestive heart failure [CHF] and Heart rhythm disorder [Atrial arrhythmias ]are treated with ‘Digitalin’ drugs.

Digitalin can yield –‘DIGITOXIN’ and ‘DIGOXIN’ Both are glycosides. Their functional capabilities differ

Important criterion

 Critical levels of Calcium are essential for strengthened heart muscles. During a pathologic state, Calcium ‘escapes’ from these muscles through Potassium-Sodium pumps. The drug[ Digitoxin] binds such pump sites discouraging calcium escape. Consequent calcium elevation in heart tissue helps to strengthen the tissue and favours beats that help circulation.

Digitoxin impedes the Potassium-Sodium pump activity that helps the escape of Calcium and thus manages to protect from Congestive heart failure.

Digoxin has a different mode of action. The reason for Calcium escape from heart cells is induction by certain signals. It can cause disturbances to heart rhythm pattern. Digoxin can slow down such signals and thus it  serves to modulate the heart beat rhythm.

Thus, Fox glove alkaloids help to tide over heart problems.
