COMPREHENSION

 COMPREHENSION

Well, easily the most important act ever, in one’s life is comprehension. So, comprehension is the most desirable ability to acquire from childhood on. Why do I suggest it to be the most desirable?

Life is a game of interaction/ responses / ability to react to requirements. Each of these rests on our ‘understanding’ of the work or commitment placed on us. Our commitment may just be, ‘doing  a thing’ or supporting an event by performing a duty or lending a financial help. Irrespective of what it is, one has to be clear of the kind of support expected of self. To be able to give the best from our side, the most essential need is to understand “what am I expected to do?"

Such question may keep erupting through the day –in our own work or the new ‘demand’ placed on us. Yet, it stands to reason to  basically understand –all the implications attendant to the work on hand.

So, it turns out that, beyond the realm of enthusiasm or happiness over a work, the person must comprehend –all the requirements for accomplishing a work to near perfection. If so, a certain ‘extra-burden’ may accrue to the one who has to complete the work.

It would always be undesirable to disband work ‘half-finished’ citing reasons of burden of time /money or intricacy.

Put in plain terms, one has to fully understand all the facets of work involved and the time needed, besides of course any monetary commitment thereof. So, understanding an issue has several levels or stages about it. To be completely informed of a thing is referred to as ‘COMPREHENSION’.

Consider the state of advantage that accrues to us from true comprehension as against that emerging from basic understanding. Obviously, the former state is a desirable advantage in avoiding surprises and unforeseen pressure from participation. For a well comprehended mind, most items and ideas can be handled with due ease. Understanding a little of something and later getting to know of several needs would be disturbing. So, a case for ‘comprehension’ is often legitimate. So, making ‘comprehension’ a trait in life is an asset to tide over difficulties /inconveniences.

True comprehension is a grand virtue for all learners. Learning at any level turns meaningful when the learner comprehends the items learned. Comprehension is a ‘knowledge pack’ to put it mildly.
