TEACHING INVOLVES
AUGMENTATION.
Augmentation is a
process of gathering information, interpretation, corroborative or
contradictory viewpoints –as basic materials for any topic to be handled.
In effect, it implies revision, periodic
updating so as to sustain contemporary relevance. Over a time, a teacher who
presents current opinion / data enjoys a respectful tag of updated
freshness, while a few teachers may suffer
the ignominy of weather-beaten outdated presentation.
Augmentation has two
distinct domains.
These are a] Assembling
of relevant data and b] a lucid delivery. Though listed as two items the two
are mutually inclusive and influential.
These are rather
complementary in that, their synergistic value outweighs the individual values
of either of them. In simpler terms, the suggestion is –any well-augmented
information can be made more impressive by a fine delivery.
On the contrary,
however well-augmented, a message may lack sheen from suffocated delivery. It is the second variety that encourages and
breeds digressive trends among learners. That is why, I reiterate that
‘education is a collective effort’.
If teachers can ably
plug such pilfer points, digression due to impaired presentation can be
precluded outright. If wards fail to be attentive and turn digressive,
certainly teachers are not to blame. Indirectly, in all such situations,
teachers have no contribution to the malady
So, it stands to reason
to identify that successful teaching requires updated information presented in
the most palatable form.
Necessarily, knowledge
front shines better if the most appropriate module of delivery is brought into
play every time.
