SUCCESS
If something holds the widest appeal, it
is the word ‘Success’. What is success per se is a simple question for an
intricate answer. Success can right away defy our definitions -as it may mean
different things for different people. Yet, the whole gamut of opinions can be
crystallized as ‘achieving the desired’. O K
Success shall be well deserved by
earnest effort and by a devoted exercise of achieving through sincere attempt to
acquire all the components therein. Honestly, anyone who has not devoted time
and effort would never enjoy ‘Success’ like those who have strained their
nerves by effort. It is like enjoying food after hard work, as against formal
eating at an appointed hour. The pride that goes with success would vanish if
success is not a reward for genuine effort. So, one can recognize ‘success’ as
product of hard work or as an outcome of ‘appeasement\.Any product of
appeasement is a ‘doubtful acquisition’
Anyone desirous of success must recognize that
SUCCESS
IS NOT A READY PRODUCT PROCURED AT THE END.
Systematic ‘build up’ is essential to
ensure assured success. A good product is one whose basic components are good.
Likewise, the basic components determining success of an effort also need to be
good in totality. Peripheral success is a shallow victory. It is like this. We
know many students get their lessons ‘by-heart’ and clear the school
examination with tall scores. . When they enter profession studies, their
earlier approach of getting things by-heart miserably fails in evaluation, as
their comprehension is poor, making it impossible to decipher critical scrutiny
by well-drafted questions. Had they been appropriately sensitized to gather the
practice of comprehension, at higher levels the going would be simpler and
pleasant too. A score-centric training at lower levels is actually eccentric
and it ruins the prospect of correct learning. Young minds that have hitherto
succeeded managing tall scores suddenly feel mental vacuum and choose to end
life instead of fighting their way out by right correctives. Success at profession studies requires that studies
/approaches are professional and not by ritualistic memorizing. If we learn the strategy of comprehending any
idea, learning experience can turn mesmerizing from one of memorizing.
How a sprinter trains self for a
competition? He undergoes rigorous training for different aspects like poise,
body-balancing, gaining momentum at the right pace to conserve energy and go
all out to sustain pace. If so many components rule a -would just be a dream.
Memory is a wonderful tool so long as it stays ‘free of pressure’. Students
please remember -- Memorizing just taxes
the memory of learners, while comprehension [clear understanding] eases the
faculty to be alert and swift to respond to situations. At least from V
standard onwards, our orientation to learning should be re-organized to help
comprehension. Memorized ideas may evaporate while ideas understood stay firmly
entrenched in mind for a long time.
Human brain has infinite potential to grab and grasp ideas. Let us make
the best use of Nature’s gift to us. Correct knowledge is the basis of ‘Success’.
Passing an exam with a minimum marks is also a success for the concerned student and passing with very high marks is also a success .
