PHOTOGRAPHY- 34
Photography is a Diamond cave – rich in treasure. Being a cave it demands some guidance as to how to proceed. I may look silly to the present crop of youngsters when I say ‘it demands some guidance; such a contention has its origin from the present day Digital system that answers all needs with “nothing to learn” status. The state of affairs was far different in film-based work. Having so far surveyed the territory of ‘Photography- using film’ [conventional scheme], two other segments have not been discussed 1 [ Both FIELD EQUIPMENT and DARK ROOM GADGETS] and 2 [CHEMISTRY IN FILM PROCESSING and IMAGE REPRODUCTION]. Though these were vital for the trade, the two had a grand respect from general public, more due to unfamiliarity especially ‘DARK ROOM TECHNIQUES’; D R T had another dimension , as learning had to be in feeble diffuse light [ Black and White] and in absolute dark [Colour films and Prints]. With the trade having sunk into the oblivion, would it be of any relevance to readers is my fear.
If at least 50% of our readers express
willingness to know details of 1 and 2 above, I can spare time and effort. All
our readers know that READERSHIP IS DWINDLING BY THE DAY and I REALLY FEEL THAT
PEOPLE CAN NOT ANY FURTHER DEVOTE TIME ON SUCH UNPRODUCTIVE EFFORTS. It may not be long before blog writing comes
to a halt with the general decline in the number of participants at 10 for
English topics [out of a targeted group of 53 ] and 12 for Tamil items [out of
a targeted group of 35]. Why should I tax YOUR
time for running my blog? That is where it stands. Thank you for your
participation.
